Warranty

 

1. Limited Lifetime Structural Warranty: The structuralwarranty

covers all manufacturing and material defects including milling, damaged pieces found in the boxes, delaminated material and dimensional deformation or broken profiles and other visible defects that are not standard to normal use of the products. Installers must report such defects as soon as they discover them for replacement material. Installers must not knowingly install defective products if they discover them before or while installation to avoid voiding this warranty. Balena will, at its option, replace or repair defective products. Replacement will be in full carton quantities only.

 

2. Limited Lifetime Coating Warranty: At normal condition of use, Balena will warrant its products’ coating for wear and tear, discoloration, peeling during the length of the warranty provided the care of products strictly follows the maintenance guidelines. Balena will, at its option, replace or repair defective products.

 

3. Limited Waterproof Warranty: Balena warrants that its products will be free of dimensional change, peeling of the finish, swelling and delaminating, and damage to the coating as a result of accidental spills of topical water, provided the products are used in normal household conditions. Before installing the floor, it is required that a moisture barrier of a minimum of 6 microns thick of polyethylene be laid under the floor. In the event of excessive water invasion, such as flooding from plumbing leaks, standing water from appliances, infiltration of subfloor moisture and or other water related hazards, immediately and properly remove such hazards. All hazards that homeowner’s insurance excludes are also excluded under this warranty. Subfloor moisture must be cured before installation of the floor. Excessive exposure to moisture for an extended period of time may cause mildew and or mold around the products to develop. This warranty does not cover any consequential damages and health related issues as a result of mildew and or mold.

 

 

1. Improper Installation: The products must be professionally

installed. The Warranty will not cover damage to products due to improper installation methods or poor workmanship or knowingly installing faulty products. Defective products, beyond the customary 5% waste allowance, should be returned to the Dealer for full carton replacement before they are installed.

 

2. Color Variation: The products may vary slightly in color from batch to batch. In cases where severe deviation of color is found, before and during installation, installers or consumers should contact the Dealer for immediate correction. Color changes with lighting of different light bulb shades, natural lighting and lighting intensity are also considered normal.

 

3. Fading: Color and topical coatings fade due to prolonged exposure to sunlight and or heat. Some fading of color is considered normal aging.

4. Overheating: The products are designed to be used in a natural household environment with ambient room temperatures of 55-85 degrees Fahrenheit. If exposed toexcessive heat it is possible to alter the structure of the floors and may cause them to deform, split, and ultimately disengage. Whether the source of heat is from over exposure of sunlight or radiant heat, the warranty does not cover damage of the products from overheating.

 

5. Uneven Subfloor: Before installing, thoroughly inspect the subfloor conditions and make sure the subfloor is free from pits, depressions, escalating or descending levels of the surface, debris, popped nails and or other foreign objects. The warranty does not cover disengagement of the boards due to unlevel subfloor conditions. Nor does it cover squeaks, gaps, dislocation of the joints of floors, nor any resulting personal injury and other actual or consequential damages.

 

6. Normal Wear and Tear: This warranty covers normal use of the floors in the normal household environment when proper maintenance is followed. Minor dents, scratches, and dulling of the finish by residential traffic over time are considered normal wear and tear. Abuse of the floor, by other construction trades,scratches, dents and damage caused by moving heavy items across the floor without protection will not be covered.

 

7. Other Damages: This Warranty does not cover damage caused by non-floor quality issues, including but not limited to,wall structure movement, subfloor and foundation movement, moldings, furniture and HVAC equipment malfunction. Mildew, mold and moisture under the floor that goes undetected causing other damage is not covered.

 

 

Claims under this warranty must be filed by the original purchasers of Balena products, directly with the Dealer from whom they purchased the material. All invoices must be paid in full for products purchased before claims can be handled. Balena must be given reasonable time to inspect and evaluate the claim. In its sole discretion Balena may engage a neutral third party to offer a professional opinion as to the cause and resolution to the problem. All claims should be reported in writing, preferably with pictures of the faulty products. Reports should indicate the nature of defects and possible conditions in which products are used.
