Maintenance

• Maintain an optimum yearly room temperature at 70 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity range of 35%-55%.
• Do not install the product floating in areas where the expected temperature is greater than 140 degrees whether it’s instant or accumulated. The product must be installed in a temperature controlled interior environment maintained between 55-85 degrees.
• For wet areas such as bathrooms or laundry rooms where it may have a chance for moisture infiltration, caulk the perimeters of products with Silicone caulk and wherever there is a cut end of the board.
• Balena products are intended for residential indoor use only. Avoid installing products in areas with excessive exposure to sunlight, UV and moisture sources such as decks and sunrooms. Warranties do not cover damage from excessive UV exposure or exterior installation.
• Maintain a normal household ambient environment of 55 to 85 degrees F and a recommended humidity level between 35% R.H. - 55% R.H.
• Avoid shoes with spiked or damaged heels. Also keep pets’ paws and nails cleaned and trimmed.
• Sweep or vacuum regularly since built-up grit can damage the surface of your Balena floor.
• The Warranty covers wet mop cleaning. Wet mop means a moistened cloth mop that has no dripping water. Although the product itself is waterproof, excessive water saturation can cause other hazards such as mold and or mildew damage of surrounding household items.
• Remove spills or excessive water promptly using a soft cloth and cleaning products recommended by the manufacturer. Use a floor cleaner recommended for vinyl floors to damp-mop your floor.
• Do not use oil soaps, liquid or paste wax products or other household cleaners that contain citrus oils, lemon oil, Tung oil, silicon, or ammonia since these products may make your floor slippery and or dull the look of the finish.
• Keep pets’ nails trimmed, and paws clean and free of dirt, gravel, grease, oil, and stains. Place protective felt pads beneath furniture legs and feet to reduce scratches and dents. Remove shoes with spiked or damaged heels before walking on floor.
• Exposure to the sun and its UV rays can heat up your floor and cause movement. Use shades, curtains or blinds to reduce the impact of the sun coming through windows and doors.
• Live your life! Balena floors are some of the most easy to maintain floors available.
